All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Lesson Overview
Where Did the Bible Come From?
The Bible isn't a human book that God approved. It's God's actual word, carried through human writers by the Holy Spirit. "God-breathed" means the source is God Himself — which means what it says about your life, your sin, and your salvation is true.

Key Passages
2 Timothy 3:16–17
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…"
"Breathed out" — not dictated word-for-word like a robot, but God's breath, God's life behind every word. Every page has a purpose: to shape you into someone equipped to live God's way.
→ When Scripture corrects you, that's God correcting you.
2 Peter 1:20–21
"…prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
The human writers were real people — with personalities, emotions, vocabulary — but God's Spirit was behind every word. It wasn't their idea. It was His.
→ The Bible's authority doesn't come from who wrote it. It comes from who breathed it.
Big Idea
The Bible isn't one option among many for moral guidance. It's God's actual voice. When you ignore it, you're not ignoring a book — you're ignoring Him.
